     _s into a byte string in EUC, and writes the string followed by a newline
     character to _ssss_tttt_dddd_oooo_uuuu_tttt.

     _ffff_pppp_uuuu_tttt_wwww_ssss transforms the _wwww_cccc_hhhh_aaaa_rrrr______tttt null-terminated _wwww_cccc_hhhh_aaaa_rrrr______tttt string pointed to
     by _s into a byte string in EUC, and writes the string to the named output
     stream.

     Neither function writes the terminating _wwww_cccc_hhhh_aaaa_rrrr______tttt null character.

     _ffff_eeee_rrrr_rrrr_oooo_rrrr(3S), _ffff_oooo_pppp_eeee_nnnn(3S), _ffff_rrrr_eeee_aaaa_dddd(3S), _pppp_rrrr_iiii_nnnn_tttt_ffff(3S), _ssss_tttt_dddd_iiii_oooo(3S), _pppp_uuuu_tttt_wwww_cccc(3S),
     _wwww_iiii_dddd_eeee_cccc(3S).

DDDDIIIIAAAAGGGGNNNNOOOOSSSSTTTTIIIICCCCSSSS
     On success, both functions return the number of _wwww_cccc_hhhh_aaaa_rrrr______tttt characters
     transformed and written (not including the newline character in the case
     of _pppp_uuuu_tttt_wwww_ssss).  Otherwise they return _EEEE_OOOO_FFFF.

     _pppp_uuuu_tttt_wwww_ssss appends a newline character while _ffff_pppp_uuuu_tttt_wwww_ssss does not.
